A B O U T M E

Molly Frisby is a Dallas based visual artist working under the studio name MSFT Arts. Her practice explores memory, inheritance, and emotional duality through figurative imagery, symbolic botanicals, and rhythmic, fluid forms.

Drawing from personal history and mythological reference, Frisby’s work examines the tension between control and surrender, clarity and distortion, permanence and change. Recurring motifs such as water, gardens, and black and white patterning function as visual metaphors for inherited systems, family dynamics, and the spaces in between fixed narratives.

Her paintings balance realism with surreal interruption, allowing moments of precision to dissolve into movement, repetition, and abstraction. This push and pull reflects an interest in resisting binary thinking and embracing ambiguity as a site of meaning.

Frisby holds a BFA from Oklahoma State University and has exhibited in both gallery and public facing contexts. She is currently developing a cohesive body of work that bridges contemporary figurative painting with symbolic, process driven mark making.
